The High School Youth Ministry program is for all high school teens of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and St. John Student Center in grade 9-12. Our youth ministry program seeks to empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today, to draw our teens to responsible participation in the life of the Catholic faith community and to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.
The sole purpose and goal of STA-SJSC Youth Ministry is to lead teens to a personal encounter with Christ, especially in the Eucharist. The Eucharist is the “source and summit of our Catholic faith.” As Youth leaders, it is our job, with God’s help, to lead teens to this Eucharistic encounter by not only building Christ-centered relationships with teenagers but also providing teens with opportunities for service, events that foster fellowship, youth nights that teach discipleship, times of prayer and worship, and the encouragement they need to be bold for Christ, in our culture and among their peers.
Religious Education / Youth Ministry nights will take place at:
St. Thomas Aquinas Church, in Fr. Mac Hall, every Sunday evening from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
Other events such as weekly bible study and youth band practice, we will be meeting at St. John Student Center in our Youth Room (Room #13 downstairs).
Life Teen We will be using a Life Teen curriculum at our youth meetings. The lessons that Life Teen provides are faithful to the teachings of the Church and utilize contemporary youth culture to bring Christ’s words to teens in ways that they can understand and relate to. Please visit www.lifeteen.com for more information!
Our Youth Ministry Team is always looking for new people to serve as leaders. These individuals, no matter what age, must have a passion for Christ and His Church and have a love for working with teens. Ideally, our Youth Ministry team will be comprised of a variety of different age groups (including MSU students), vocations, gifts, and perspectives, making a balanced mix.
