ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY
The Rosary Altar Society of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in East Lansing, was established on September 25, 1941 under the pastorate of Father Cecil M. Winters, founder of the parish.
We believe every Catholic woman has a vocation to happiness through service to God. We join together in a bond of a society under the patronage of His Holy Mother, Mary, and do hereby implore the blessings of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit on our work.
As members of the Rosary Altar Society, we look upon the Sanctuary as an extension of our homes. We feel that the Sanctuary should be maintained at all times suitable to the glory and honor of God. Our Sacristans help set up for Mass, dust, vacuum, wash linens, replace candles and more.
We provide funeral lunches. We have many members who help by calling for food donations, shopping, cooking, serving and cleaning up. During the school year, we host the Sunday Morning Coffee Bar. We have three active guilds. Our members of the St. Catherine, St. Therese and St. Veronica guilds enjoy gathering for luncheons, dinners, and to work on quilts. All women of St. Thomas Aquinas and St. John Church & Student Center Catholic Community are welcome to join us.
Our meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 10AM in Bishop Baraga Room. Please join us.
