Building Friendships and Community, One Donut at a Time!
Kicking Off the Weekend of October 15 & 16
Hosts are needed to help with making coffee, taking care of the donuts, greeting guests and whatever else comes along. If you would like to help, click here.
Donuts are served once a month at St. Thomas and St. John. They are served following the 8 am and 10am at St. John (McDevitt Hall) and following the 9:00am and 11:00am at St. Thomas (Fr. Mac Hall).
Early Shift arrives before the early Mass to make coffee and set out plates, napkins, cups and coffee service. Then comes back at the end of Mass to greet and mingle with people who come down.
Late Shift arrives before the 2nd Mass to make sure things look good. After Mass and mingling with people, it is clean up time. It's pretty simple, rinising coffee urns, putting supplies away and boxing up the donuts.
You will receive a reminder phone call a few days before you are scheduled to work.
Please be responsible for getting your own substitute.
If you have any questions please contact Denise Zakerski at 517-337-9778
Thank you for your assistance on making coffee/donuts a success. With this ministry we hope parishioners will meet and get re-acquainted in our Community.
Laity Sunday - Oct. 16
Laity Sunday celebrates the ministry of all Christians, as their lives are empowered for ministry by the Holy Spirit. Laity Sunday is a special time when Lay People of the Church pause to consider their varied gifts for ministry, inside and outside the walls of the Church building.
Being present and active in the World is our call as disciples of Jesus.
He’s (probably) not asking you to move to the Philippines and start an orphanage, but He is definitely asking you to step up and serve in some way.
